Kauai must see

If you enjoy a slow pace travel, lush green mountains, and dreamy beaches… then Kauai is the island to visit. When friends and family come to visit we always recommend one day hiking in Kokee and grabbing lunch at the lodge after, one evening watching the sunset at Polihahle (not accessible w/rental car), one day surfing at the pier of Hanalei with shopping after, then we usually let them rest on a beach on the south side, take them to Warehouse 3540 for coffee and shopping (a truly unique cool community), and enjoy the beauty of the Southside. Snorkeling is a great way to watch the sea come alive just be aware of beaches that have strong currents, don’t step on the rocks and coral underwater (for your safety and theirs), and buy natural reef-safe sunscreen so you don’t pollute that beautiful world you want to explore.

  • Kokee Hike: Pihea Trail

  • Kokee Lodge for Lunch

  • Polihale Beach This beach is extremely hot from 10-5 pm and has very strong ocean currents so it is not advisable to swim unless their is “pond” at Queens Pond. (Take a left at the monkey pod tree to get to Queens Pond. The rest of the park with bathrooms is to the right fork of the monkeypox tree.

  • Warehouse 3540: Southside coffee and shopping (easily accessible when driving between the South and Westside of the island)
